I keep telling students: you’ll need ten years to unlearn the stuff your law school impregnated you with before you become able to contribute to your societies again. There is nothing wrong with law per se, but thinking in terms of positions just makes us confront each other. We need to be able to recognize each and all of our competing and overlapping interests instead in order to keep moving our communities forward.
