Archie Shepp played Zagreb yesterday. What a concert! It is one of the most profound music events I witnessed. You could immediately understand why Wynton M arsalis is funny. I’ve seen Wynton playing three times (Vienna, Milan and…don’t remember), but his cerebral approach just does not get very deep. Archie Shepp sung, has blown a few licks and we were transported into the hot core of music itself. Unbelievable… How his band accopanied him, each one of them leading his own instrument while following each other, really impressed and has shown to be a stymulating model for active interaction. Can this be achieved in other fields of human interaction?
